GREEK/ROMAN NAPLES
The ruins of Greek and Roman times are still visible today below modern Naples, giving life to a city made of layers that is preserved under our feet. The guided tour begins in Piazza Bellini, where a section of the Greek walls is preserved, and continues towards the Pietrasanta complex. Here we will see a stretch of the Greco-Roman aqueduct, built inside a tuff quarry and then reused as an air-raid shelter during the bombing of the Second World War. The last stop of the guided tour is Piazza San Gaetano, the heart of the ancient settlement; here we will visit the hidden Roman market hidden under the complex of San Lorenzo Maggiore to take a journey back in time.
Tour duration: 2.5 hours.
