THE NATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF NAPLES
The National Archaeological Museum of Naples houses one of the most important collections of antiquities in the world, offering a complete picture of the Greek-Roman civilization in its various aspects. Inside you can visit the famous Farnese collection, inherited by Charles of Bourbon, son of Elisabeth Farnese and last exponent of the dynasty, who conquered the Kingdom of Naples in 1734. The guided tour continues in the section relating to Pompeii and other Vesuvian cities buried by Vesuvius, in the collection of mosaics and in the Secret Cabinet. The 3-hour tour also includes a visit to the Egyptian Section, second only to the one of the Egyptian Museum in Turin.
