CERTOSA AND PEDAMENTINA
The Charterhouse of S. Martin, an ancient monastic complex built in the fourteenth century by the son of King Robert of Anjou in front of Castel Sant'Elmo, is one of the symbols of Naples. Walking through the cloisters and the spaces for worship, you reach the terrace overlooking the sea to admire a splendid view. The guided tour includes the Crib Section, one of the most representative of this unique form of Neapolitan art, the Carriage Corridor and the beautiful baroque church. From the square in front of the Charterhouse you then go down to Via Toledo along the Pedamentina, one of the most famous stairs of Naples that offers panoramic views of the gulf, to conclude the route in the Spanish Quarters, decorated with murals by contemporary artists, in a fully Neapolitan atmosphere.
