CastellDellOvo 2

The Vergiliano Park is behind Piazza Piedigrotta and it’s commonly known as the burial place of the Latin poet Virgil. Known during the Middle Ages as a magician and thaumaturge, the poet often helped the Neapolitans, freeing them from many misfortunes. Famous is the legend that it was Virgil to place in the dungeons of a castle an egg. The fate of the city would depend on it. The guided tour will start from the visit to the Park, where next to the so-called tomb of Virgil we will admire the elegant tomb of the famous poet Leopardi. We will continue towards Castel dell'Ovo, where there are still remains of an ancient Roman villa, to end the visit on the terrace where you will enjoy a beautiful view over the bay of Naples.
