Pompeii is by far the most impressive archaeological site in the world, able to leave an unforgettable memory in all people who visit it. We will explore the ancient city walking on the ancient cobblestones to visit houses, shops, thermal baths and the forum surrounded by temples and public buildings. Along the path we will see beautiful frescoes and mosaics almost intact, as well as the plaster casts of the victims of the eruption, to relive all the aspects of the daily life of the ancient Pompeii.

HERCULANEUM

Ercolano

Built on a promontory overlooking the sea, the ancient town of Herculaneum was a resort for the elite of the time. Linked to the mythical hero Hercules, was the site of the patrician villas among them being the famous Villa of the Papyri. The visit will start near the ancient beach, where excavations have unearthed the bodies of about 300 victims. We will enter inside the city wall to visit the aristocratic houses, thermal baths and shops incredibly preserved and protected by the pyroclastic flow that brought them to us.

THE VILLA OF POPPEA IN OPLONTIS

 Oplontis

In the historic center of the modern city of Torre Annunziata, the ancient Oplontis, there are the remains of the so-called Villa of Poppea, the largest suburban villa of Roman property belonged to the second wife of the Emperor Nero. Adorned with beautiful paintings, it spreads over a wide area that overlooks a lush garden. The guided tour will continue through the rooms of the imperial residence, provided with a thermal suite and a large swimming pool surrounded by trees. Walking through the arcades, we will admire the beautiful rooms facing it, finely decorated with natural scenes, painted by renowned artists, perhaps coming from Rome.

THE VILLAS OF STABIAE

Stabia

The present town of Castellammare di Stabia was once a privileged destination for the Roman patricians, who chose the plateau overlooking the sea as the ideal place to build their own luxury villas . Even today, though little known, some of these luxurious villas are preserved almost intact, partially embedded in the modern town. We will visit the luxurious Villa San Marco, built on several levels and provided with private thermal baths where the owner could spend his leisure time in company of his guests. Later we will visit Villa Arianna with the adjacent Second Complex, unique for the exceptional quality of the frescoes and its large size.
